Pussy Galore
Right Now (Product Inc.)
FROM BEYOND the valley of the New York Dolls slink Pussy Galore, a band so GREBO that you'll want to swallow them down in one big ball of fur...be careful of the claws that catch, one might just snag in your throat and make you gag. Pussy Galore are definitely an acquired taste and take some chewing over.
You'll plunk this one on and the room will clear fast. A record that almost defies you to listen to it, Pussy Galore certainly sound like they've got a bucketful of screws loose, but somewhere underneath all that we don't care brag of theirs is something that's as hard as nails.
It may sound like flailing with the lights out but there's something brilliant in there that's beating its brains out. Rockin' rivulets of blood, sweated through a flash wound in your head...A fruggin' 'Raw Power' for the dogpuke 80's, no less. And like most worthy records, it's a grower.
Pussy Galore are the perfect blueprint for tomorrow's ugly world. Their attitude stinks and I love them for it. Chances are you will too.
Edwin Pouncey."
