I never thought, “How could these punk musicians do this to this old blues standard?” or “What nerve they have to mangle a guitar in that fashion!” I was a blank sheet of paper, so I took it as it came. It was a real door opening, it gave me a glimpse into this other world of music, of rock’n’roll and the blues, and it showed me you can keep digging and going back and connecting the lines from one band to another.
