PRESS RELEASE:
“Tiny Masters Of Today
‘K.I.D.S.’

Release date: 4th December 2006
Format: 7″ Single/Download Catalogue number: GRRR10

Tiny Masters Of Today release their second single, ‘K.I.D.S.’, through Tigertrap Records on 4th December 2006. Available on 7” vinyl and strictly limited to 500 copies, the release follows their criticall acclaimed sell-out ‘Big Noise EP’ in July.

When Tiny Masters Of Todfay walk out on the stage, jaws drop before they have even played a single note. With an average age of eleven and weighing a total of 120 lbs, the Tiny Masters are certainly one of the youngest and tiniest bands toughing out the New York club scene. Those tempted to dismiss them as a novelty act are quickly set straight as they tear through a ferocious set of their original and inventive songs, often backed by legendary Blues Explosion drummer Russell Simins.

The band is comprised of 12-year-old Ivan on guitar and vocals and his 10-year-old sister Ada on bass and vocals. The pair began writing songs in the summer of 2004 when Ada was eight. Immediately upon their live debut in June, critics and fans took notice. Newsweek Magazine covered their first show calling the band and their “brief, bratty” songs “remarkable”. They quickly developed an international reputation scoring a deal with UK label Tigertrap Records before they had even played a gig and releasing the EP ‘Biy Noise’ in July to rave reviews and BBC Radio and Xfm airplay. In October, Artrocker featured the duo on their cover of their magazine with the slogan ‘We have seen the future of rock ‘n’ roll’.

Their new single ‘K.I.D.S.’ is another anthemic finger in the eye of authority figures: “Kids don’t make no atom bomb, Kids didn’t start no Viet Nam!”. This two minutes of raw punk fury is back by ‘Pictures’, a minimalist paean to elementary school cliques and ‘Cellphone’, a joyous ode to mobile phone ownership closing with a sage comment, “Now I’ve got a cellphone, now I cannot be alone.”
