Heavy Trash set at AVA, 51 N Park St, Lebanon, NH 03766, US on 13 May 2006.
Heavy Trash line-up:
““Ladies and gentlemen, I’d just like to say…. I love you.”
Heavy Trash, led by Hanover native Jon Spencer and Matt Verta-Ray, led a 4 guitar assually on rockabilly power. Spencer had the intimate crowd dancing and screaming back. Heavy Trash was some of the best live Rockabilly I’ve witnessed. Their timing was amazing and the sound worked out great, I would have liked a bit more organ.
Ladies and Gentlemen, “I [think] of him as a kind of dirtier Elvis.” My concert ticket provider said. I think she hit it”
“Hanover native Jon Spencer, in his first-ever Upper Valley performance, will bring his new band Heavy Trash to the Lebanon Opera House on Saturday, May 13. The concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m., is a benefit in support of AVA’s Building Fund for the upcoming renovation of the 11 Bank St. building. A pre-performance party will be held at AVA from 5:30 to 7.
After the demise of his seminal punk band, Pussy Galore, Spencer formed The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion (JSBX) and for the past 15 years has continuously proven to be the most exciting and innovative performer in rock ‘n’ roll. Tickets are $20, $15 for students ($35 with pre-performance party); call the Lebanon Opera House Box Office, (603) 448-0400.”
“On Saturday past I had the pleasure to stumble into a ticket for HEAVY TRASH at the Lebanon Opera House. The show was put on by AVA and through ties to his roots in the upper valley, Jon Spencer’s Heavy Trash played a benefit show.” – Dr Nik / flickr.com/photos/sponng/
