The pilot episode of The Birthday Party has recently been posted online and features an interview and several live performances by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, shot at Red Lotus Rooms, Brooklyn, New York, US (8 June 2012).

“In 2012, music producer extraordinaire Victor Van Vugt self financed one of the coolest music show pilots that never aired. It was filmed deep in Gowanus Brooklyn in the middle of summer with no air condoning. Live performances by, and interviews with; The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, ESG, Beans, Zachary Lipez, Anne Marsen, and Joseph Keckler. Appearances by Dean Wareham, Michael Azarrad, Ahmed Gallab, and Mike Edison.”
