Rafi’s Revenge. Originally releases as a split single with Atari Teenage Riot on the Damaged Goods label it was this track that couple with some helpful comments from Primal Scream that unexpectedly got ADF and the Free Satpal Ram campaign a lot of attention at the beginning of 1998. Satpal had been imprisoned on a murder charge in 1985 despite evidence that he had in fact been the victim of a racial attack and was acting in self-defence. Little of this evidence was considered at the trial and Satpal was provided with inadequate counsel. The song became part of a hard-fought grass roots campaign that engaged many people outside the normal sphere of political activists, surprising the British media who had pronounced that any connection between activism and music had long since died. Satpal was eventually released in 2001.
