Japanese edition of Liquid Love by the Experimental Tropic Blues Band which includes access to ‘No Fun’ as an mp3 download and bonus DVD of the “NYC Diary” videos shot by Oliver Donnet, this version is actually the standard Belgium CD edition with an Obi strip and the DVD in a separate sleeve.
The album was recorded with Jon Spencer and Matt Verta-Ray in New York, also issued on vinyl, CD in Europe and Belgium The band released The Best Burger / No Fun 7″ single in September 2011. NEWS on the recording / album as it appears followed by images posted by the band: The original news story as it appeared on goutemesdisques.com was as follows: “Cela fait des années qu’on le dit: The Experimental Tropic Blues Band est l’un des meilleurs groupes belges en activité. The band arrived in New York on 26 February 2011 to record the album and have since posted several photos of themselves in and around NYC including shots from the studio and a collection of tapes labelled with the following: Best Burger in Town (Best Hamburger) / Yeah Yeah Yeah / Petit Rock / Fantasy World / You Can Change / Change KPR (1st One) / You Can’t Change Me For The Better / NTP. Noise Collage / Nothing To Prove KPR / NTP HT End + Solo / Sex Games / Liquid Love / Nothing To Prove / Wo Oh Oh / K2U 09 March 2011: They posted “Very last overdubs this morning, after let’s go shopping!” along with a picture of the band recording with Jon Spencer at NY Hed. 12 March 2011: Lesoir.be published a French-language news story about The Experimental Tropic Blues Band’s trip to New York and a short interview with Jon Spencer.
