“Whiteout is the long awaited new album from Boss Hog, their first since ‘Boss Hog’ on Geffen in 1995. The sound is an evolution of the punky sexploitation of the old, toward something a little more slinky and subversive. The old influences are there to be heard but this time round loops and programming have enhanced the sound to create a benchmark album to herald in the 21st Century.
Boss Hog are fronted by the sultry Christina Martinez and Jon Spencer (Pussy Galore, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion) augmented by Mark Boyce, Jens Jurgensen and Hollis Queens. Whiteout is produced by Tore Johansson (Cardigans). Andy Gill (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) and Jim Scalvunous (ex Sonic Youth, current Bad Seed) The single ‘Whiteout’ precedes the album and is backed up by a super-sexy video directed by Christina Martinez. The band will be in the U.K. to promote the single and album and to play live at The Embassy Rooms in London in early February, The Whiteout campaign is a major priority for City Slang in 2000 and promises to bring some much needed glamour to the sweaty world of rock!
