“Special Thanks: Yoko Ono, Michel Gondry, Julie Fong, Jen Hall, Eric Weiss, Janet Billig, Bob Fukuyama & Bill Bishop”
“Thank you so much for supporting Cibo Matto What I remember most was the faces of fans I won’t forget Cibo Matto fans jumping and shouting “Shut up and eat” with us!! Everybody needs to shout sometimes and slide to the right, to the left, in this society. I tattooed “Shut up and eat” Spirits in my heart. Lovely Yuka, thank you so much for all your super wicked sounds and sharing the time. Time is always moving and things are changing. Cheers, www.mihohatori.com” “These are flyers I made for Cibo Matto. The one that says “CIDO Matto,” has a funny story. This is the birth story of Cibo Matto. – Miho Hatori” “I met Yuka and Miho at the Troubadour, L.A. Spike Jonze was there. At first I thought he was there bass player, then their bus driver. I guess I assumed that their bass player was driving the van…I am not much of a physionomist. I wanted to incorporate equally both of their personalities in the [“Sugar Water”] video, so I came up with this palindrome concept that would allow them to share the video in a totally symmetrical way. The song was nearly perfectly symmetrical too. You could play it in reverse and it would sound quite similar. This maybe explains some of their secret power – the Japanese brain has a different organization. – Michel Gondry” “How did you come up with this one, girls? It’s just so tough for any musician to follow, ’cause your brand of magic is in every song you cooked. Hey, I’m ready for the dessert, sisters! – Yoko Ono” |
