The Milarepa Fund
In May of 1994, the Milarepa Fund was officially launched. The Beastie Boys created Milarepa with royalty money from two songs from their fourth LP “Ill Communication.” Milarepa began as a foundation through which the Beastie Boys could give grants and support the cause, and soon became a fully operational organization setting up events like the Tibetan Freedom Concerts.

Membership: The Right Choice

Any successful grassroots movement starts with a group of dedicated people working together with synchronized watches and easy-to-read blueprints for action. In order to provide our amazing group of supporters with a better system of operation, Milarepa became a membership organization. Through membership, we have organized ourselves into a well-oiled machine, ready to meet Dr. Evil head on.

Our members receive a Milarepa ID card, action alerts, bumper stickers, our bi-annual zine, email updates and early notice of events. Following the lead of such prestigious organizations as the Free Masons, the Benevolent Order of Elks and the KISS ARMY, we hope that our “Yak LOdge” will give members the skills and connections necessary to be the power brokers of the next century.

STUDENTS FOR A FREE TIBET

Students for a Free Tibet is a worldwide network of student-run chapters dedicated to educating people about the situation in Tibet and to turning awreness into action.

When we have thousands of students at hundreds of chapters in dozens of countries unified around specific tactics on planned dates, we have a powerful force for change that cannot be ignored or swept aside! When we have letters, faxes, emails and phone calls flooding the offices and homes of the powers that be, when they read about our efforts in the papers and see us on the news week after week, and when their entranceways are clogged with students who are committed to nonviolent civil disobedience…the situation will start to change no only in Tibet, but around the world. Believe it!
