Four track promo 12″ on black vinyl with plain black die-cut card sleeve. All four tracks taken from the album Acme.
This release is often mistaken for a 12″ release of the single Magical Colors. Magical Colors (7″ / CD, UK) / (CD, GERMANY), Calvin (12″ / CD, AUSTRALIA) and Talk About The Blues (7″ / 12″ / CD, UK) / (12″ / CD, US) were all released as singles. Lovin’ Machine appeared in the feature film Road Trip and was also included on the soundtrack album. The song Talk About The Blues was written as a direct response to a Rolling Stone review of Now I Got Worry and Q&A with Jon Spencer and the title is a reference to I Do Not Play Not Rock ‘n’ Roll by Mississippi Fred McDowell. The song is discussed in detail in both a CMJ New Music Monthly article titled ‘Acme Blues Explosives, INC’. In 2010 Shout! Factory / Shove! Records issued Acme + Acme Plus as a double CD with numerous additional tracks. |
