SLEEVE NOTES:
[The accompanying booklet includes notes on each song.]

WFMU Gone Wild is a mish-mash of footage from the WFMU video vault featuring live performances by a brimming cornucopia of artists and bands, key moments capture from WFMU’s sordid past, and even an old cable access segment that will leave you cursing with a thick Jersey accent.

01. Blues Explosion – Rattling
Such a feat seemed insurmountable: quietly kidnap the legendary Blues Explosion during the set up for their gig at Maxwell’s in Hoboken for a breakneck performance on WFMU, then stealthily redeposit them at the door of the venue in time to please their swooning fans. Who else could pull this off but WFMU’s own Terre T? With the help of resident chauffeur, Tom Scharpling, who put many a disgruntled soccer mom to shame with his savvy traffic-dodging, the gruelling demands of the Blues Explosion’s rock and roll lifestyle were met. A band of consummate professionals, Jon Spencer, Judah Bauer, and Russell Simins played their unique amalgam of punk, blues and rock with a type of perfection rarely seen in rock bands; the band remained completely in-sync with each other, yet the performance seemed effortless. And yes, they made it back to Maxwell’s with 40 minutes to spare (thought we think Judah got a little car sick from Tom’s speedy driving). www.blues-explosion.com
