This song was originally written for the Puffy Amiyumi album Splurge (2006), on the US edition of the album the song had English lyrics and was called Go Baby Power Now (Music / Lyrics: Jon Spencer) and the Japanese edition featured a version of the track titled Onna Machin Gan with lyrics by Seiji of Guitar Wolf.

The sleeve notes for the album include a piece explaining the history of the track: “Fierceness of girls goes beyond boys’!? Whew, it’s not easy for the boys to face the girls. This is a song I wrote the lyric for a Japanese girl duo, PUFFY. Jon Spencer wrote the original music. Ours turned out to be totally different. Since it sounded so great, I decided to end the album with this song The talk in the middle of the song is a little different from Puffy’s. It may be interesting to compare.”

Beast Vibrator was released on CD, vinyl (EUROPE / US) and as a CD/DVD set in Japan. The Puffy AmiYumi album Splurge was released on CD in the US, Japan, Korea, Vinyl in Japan and the English-language version of the song (‘Go Baby Power Now‘) also appeared on the Hit & Fun two disc compilation.

The Puffy Amiyumi recordings feature Jon Spencer and Matt Verta-Ray of Heavy Trash along with Simon Chardiet, Daniel Jodocy and Phil Hernandez (who all performed on the Going Way Out With Heavy Trash album) and Chris Maxwell.

The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion covered the Guitar Wolf song Kawasaki ZII750 Rock ‘N’ Roll (released by Guitar Wolf as a 7″ single in 1997) on I Love Guitar Wolf…Very Much.

1. Beast Vibrator
“Be wild! Find your wild instinct! Don’t sit still! Hey, don’t keep staring at your mobile. Fxxk “healing”! Shake your body and heart hard with power of beast!!! “
When I was walking down the street in Italy during the tour, the inspiration hit me all the sudden.

2. Mesopotamian Lonely
A story of man and woman who went to time travel to the ancient Mesopotamia. At first, when this title came up in my mind, I had no idea what it was about at all. But, as I kept reading the secrets of the Babylonian kingdom, I began feeling as if I were actually separated from her and drifting in between the times. A strange song.

3. Gasoline Lullaby
A night before leaving for Tokyo, I, a 18-year-old grown up in the countryside in Japan, was looking up at the ceiling of my room, trying to go to sleep. “Can I become someone big in Tokyo?” Spectacular waves of fear and excitement. Finally I fell in sleep while I was feeling the gasoline swaying inside of me, which I would explode in future.

4. Ghostly You
You can be much much more beautiful! You’ve got to be a woman who lives her life, shining with beautiful energy! There are women holding back sigh in their heart. Breathe it out like exhaling ectoplasm. Then you can be a lovely woman. Come to see Guitar Wolf. I will perform an exorcism for you.

5. Maria Robot
A story of sorrow of a man who loved the robot seriously, not being able to love female human.
In the morning when the asteroid explorer “Hayabusa (Falcon)” returned to the earth, Hayabusa dropped one capsule on the ground and burnt out in the morning glow. I shed tears at the sight. I thought the time would come one day we truly love robots.

6. Batting Center
Let the kids play under the blue sky! Getting into the good school is a small thing. You can study after play. Let the kids play as much as they enjoy. They won’t grow up strong without dreaming big. Let us be strong and lead the world together!

7. Sapphire CITY
I grew up by watching my reflections on the surface of a secret lake. It is not as huge as Lake Biwa, but Lake Shinji is quite big as well. It’s presence is known among us only who are in the shadow of the mountain. Night view of Matsue town emerges far away when you drove a motorcycle Route 9 from Izumo. Energy of youth had raised the beat at a furious speed towards the night view.

8. Magma Nobunaga
It was ridiculous when this title came up in my head. I thought it was a mistake or something. I knew I had always wanted massive power of magma. Then I noticed there was someone in my mind. It was Nobunaga. I feel the power of magma in Nobunaga in the Japanese history. Listen to the Sengoku (Civil War) rock !
By the way, Mitsuhide Akechi is kumquat.
* Nobunaga Oda and Mitsuhide Akechi were the eminent warlords in the Civil War era in the late 15th century Japan.

9. Barf Night
I’m always covered with puke. I live by ejecting poison like vomiting. The puke you spewed out glitters at night. The color of my night. I start dancing there. Well, it doesn’t end like that in real life. Millions of embarrassing things have happened when I got drunk since I was a kid.

10. EARTH vs. ALIEN
Night sky always told me. Compared to the universe, my lifetime is short, almost nothing. So why not to try whatever you want to do and live your life. I’m sure I would be sorry if I don’t accomplish something by myself on this earth. The song of brats who vowed to challenge the earth.

11. Female Machine Gun
