“Jon Spencer’s performance featured a stellar setlist spanning his entire career, including not only his solo work but also Blues Explosion, HITmakers, and even Pussy Galore. The groove of the set made it easy to forget that the band was new, and it was a truly spectacular experience.
This set featured almost no MCs, and the transitions between songs felt seamless. This performance showcased the current lineup’s high level of musical ability and adaptability, seamlessly connecting the songs.
Macky Spider Bowman was wandering around the stage, and I sometimes wondered what he was doing, but he seemed to be very attentive to the audience, appealing to the crowd, and supporting each other, and perhaps he is a kind of mood-maker. So it seems like everyone is able to focus on their own tasks.
It’s sad that Blues Explosion is over, but it’s clear that the current lineup is also incredibly good.”
