UK 7″ single released in 1977 featuring the most famous rock arrangement of Black Betty (LYRICS).

The earliest known recording of this song is by James Iron Head Baker and Group (1933) but the Ram Jam and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion recordings have more in common with the later Leadbelly adaption (RELEASE / LYRICS).

The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion recorded a cover of this song (RELEASE / LYRICS) which was used in the 2011 Volkswagen Superbowl advert and released as a split single with the Melvins in 2011 and on the No Reservations 7″ single.
