NOTES:
US release of the Cheekbones Hollows EP features Judah Bauer playing lead guitar on two tracks originally released in the UK on 15 January 2007. This version features additional sleeve notes which do not appear on the UK release.

The bottom-left high-contrast image is the sleeve used on various websites prior to release.

The artwork of this release mimics the cover artwork of ‘Edgar Allan Poe & The Juke-Box: Uncollected Poems, Drafts, and Fragments’ by Elizabeth Bishop (see image).

In July 2007 The Stool Pigeon magazine featured a cover story and extensive interview with Stuart Lupton which mentions this EP and his work with Judah Bauer.

SLEEVE NOTES:
“FROM THE DESK OF
Stewart Lupton

Good evening and thank you for coming to the town of Cheekbone Hollows (pop. 1/2 life). This is the story of our first town hall trial. Herein lies the whole truth, the slanted truth, and some others.

Depositions began in the basement of The Pirate House, Washington D.C. (Steven Kille, Court Stenographer). The appeal was filed at the Magic Shop, New York City (Produced by Matt Boyntan, Esq and Stewart Lupton, Courtroom Howling by Judah Bauer). Proceedings dragged on for the following two years and reconvened in B Pod, S.F., where another witness (I love you Ansar, come find me when you’re free) stepped in to relieve Lupton from the plaintiffs and defendents of his own mind and banish them to the other side of the bathroom mirror.

The jury is still out but I exiled myself before their seats got cold. You are holding the testimony in your hands.

So thank you to all the pre defeated braves and angles / angles of my better nature. Thank you for helping me to me stay honest. Please know that I love you all, know that I heave breathed the ether in each of your hearts and been sustained, empowered, and awakened to the matrix. Hip to the game. I’ve decided to stop collecting black eyes for awhile and moved on to hickeys and so forth. See you at church.

Paul Boring, John Melville, Tunde Oyewale, Luke Wyatt, Winston Yu, Carole and Dylan Greenwood, Branton Box, George and Kennie Lupton, Helen Hecht, Kenneth Laney, Sadie Laska, Josh and Laura (plus one) Read (Hello there Caleb James), Ian Svenonious, Mr. Twinkle, Miss Horse, Harry Druzd, Harry Martin, Nick Stmpf, Gypsy Eyes Records.”

REAR SLEEVE:
“I bought a white chocolate tea in the park on my lunchbreak. I bought a painting off the street of a haunted lake. I tried hard to make my world an exciting place. But I keep hjearing talk of doom, and they’re sending the meek home. And that’s not half as bad as the shadow that’s caught in the hollow of your cheekbone.”
